National Guard Begins Online Mentoring Program [Army.mil] Monday 03/14/05 9:52 AM
The Army National Guard has just started an online mentoring program for the entire national guard, including officers, enlisted and civilians. The motivation for the program is to retain good people in the National Guard. According to Chief Buckner as quoted in the article, "we need to know the direction they are going and how to get them there."
How the program works:
- Guardsmen sign up as a mentor or mentee.
- The program matches mentors to mentees.
- Mentor and Mentee both sign a commitment agreement.
- The relationship is evaluated at 6 month intervals at which time participants can recommit.
- Participants have access to mentorship coordinators, guidelines and FAQs.
